Pudwill Farms is not registered as organic. This does not mean we use conventional chemicals. Most materials used in the production of our fruit are registered organic with OMRI Labels although we do incorporate other methods such as biological.
We are very labor intensive in our pest management. All gophers and moles are trapped by hand. We also use bird distress calls to help with the ever present bird population. Squirrels are also trapped. To combat our smaller pests such as mites, we introduce predator mites which feed on our problem mites. For our soil, we inject microbes to help in the decomposition of soil and thus creating a favorable environment for our plants to thrive.
